Encapsulating much of the Southeast section of unincorporated Cobb County, Mableton, GA is nestled between The City of Smyrna, Vinings and Austell, Georgia. Bordered by the East/West Connector and South Cobb Drive to the north and west and continuing south to I-285 and the Chattahoochee River on the East. Mableton provides home owners with a well established older home community - many of the homes are ranch style single family housing on large lots with many as big as 1+/- acre... While newer communities are beginning to pop up in Mableton it has been an area mostly un-touched of new development until of late, therefore a great place to make an investment in a home. It's a great place to look for new construction.
Mableton is in the thrust of a historic revitalization and future development planning effort. The Historic Mableton Preservation and Improvement Plan has lofty goals, including:
-Determining and maintaining an appropriate mix and balance of residential, business, and recreational/entertainment uses that will help ensure the long-term economic viability, market competitiveness, and quality of life of the Historic Mableton area.
-Addressing residential development issues particularly as they relate to affordable and mixed-income housing needs in the community.
-Providing a complete range of transportation systems and links within the Historic Mableton community that complement existing and planned local and regional systems.
-Creating a well planned, aesthetically pleasing, urban environment that enhances quality of life and promotes safe vehicular and pedestrian circulation.
-Promoting the community's vision, needed physical improvements, and economic opportunities through an effectively targeted marketing campaign.
-Demonstrating the connectivity between neighboring activity centers in Cobb County.
-Establishing design policies and development standards that will assist in relieving the visual blight normally associated with large-scale transportation improvements.
Mableton is the proud home to one of the newest and largest libraries in Cobb County - the South Cobb County Regional Library as well as the Mable House Amphitheater. The Mable House Amphitheater is a mid-sized, yet intimate, outdoor venue that holds outdoor concerts and performances in this state of the art publicly owned and funded amphitheater. The facility has the capacity to host 2,410 people through the use of 156 table seats (each table seats 4), 1254 fixed seats, and 1000 lawn seats and hosts well known jazz, blues, country and pop acts. Next to the amphitheater, the Mable House Arts Center is home to arts classes, storytelling sessions and local artist galleries to bring the cultural arts to historic Mableton.
